Earning the right to be heard: showing that I've heard you

In a brilliant posting last month, a founder of our company describes how to get support for a plan that isn't perfect: admit its flaws!

This is a brilliant strategy, not only in the office, but also at home, because it shows that I've heard and internalized your concerns. That earns me the right to be heard -- it's a big part of the solution anyway.
